Skinning help

Okay I use Gimp and I was woundering if I can skin with that. I tried to open up a file and it didnt work.

You can skin with the Gimp, only you need it's DDS plugin.

Get gimp like the other people told you to, then get DXTBmp (http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/) but you can just go to this link and download it here* you dont need to get any plugin to open .dds files and after you send it to your editor (the gimp) and edit it, after you can you can save it as a jpeg image. Then open it in DXTBmp it automatically converts it. all you have to do then is tis go to save as and select .dds image and save it as whatever.dds and import it with hmt. have fun and good luck!! :D
