playing extracted halo sounds

how do you play the sound files after you have saved them in a folder. Whenever I try to play it with windows media player, it says that I need a codec or something.

Assuming they are still OGG files you have to get something that can play OGGs. I use wavepad, because you can use that to edit and convert the sounds too.

ok but whenever I double click the icons for the sounds it automatically opens windows media player.

That's because you set that as the default program to open them but because it can't play them it just gives you an error.
