just a quick (non 'help me mod') question.

why is modding on XBL so frowned apon here? i mean, matchmaking mods, sure i understand. boosting, definitely understand (though i could care less if im trying to be legit in MM & get modded..its just a game). but what about fun mods? why does everyone here whos actually a half decent modder (to this sites standards, of course) hate people that mod on XBL? is it because yall hate moochers? i always figured everyone would smile apon people who do fun mods on XBL, because you're sharing the joy of something most people either dont know how to do or just dont have time to do.

oh, & i realize im going to get a poop load of "shut up you stupid newb you suck at modding anyways so you dont know" responses, if any at all. im prepared, & if you're looking for an online battle, youll be greatly disappointed. im here to get a better understanding of other peoples thoughts & ideals on modding..not to fight with them about it. thank you, everyone.

EDIT: sorry..forgot the 'no swearing' rule & edited it to a more child-friendly post.

yes but, isnt modding any maps at all illegal or atleast against some sort of rule whether on or off XBL? if not, question answered, & sorry for being, well, a little slow. but if so, i think that any XBL modding question (aside from autoaim, spawn point changing, & anything else giving the modder an unbeatable advantage over the nonmodders) shouldnt be looked at as something to hate them for. & just FYI, i do mod on XBL, but i just recently took my superpowers off of my funmods. & i dont plan on asking any questions based on XBL modding because now im getting more into modding old maps, but i just feel bad for the occasional guy that asks a "how do you make rockets shoot containment gates" type question & gets verbally raped by about 500 people.

Modding on live is against the XBL terms of service as jamesr66a said. Its breaking your agreement with microsoft.

Not only is it against the terms of service, but the process that allows you to mod for 'fun' is the same process that people use to cheat. You may be having fun, but some lame losers are using the same information to cheat.

:lock:
*Ban most likely imminent.
