[Mod] - Synapse (Turf) - SLC - *New Update*

Tested!:
-SLC Tested and working fine.
-Mod Runs Perfectly


UPDATE:
- Added a link to the .sppf version of this mod. (Bottom of this Post)
- Added a download for those of you who want to add this map to your Mainmenu Automatically using Serenity instead of overwriting your Original Turf.map. In the Description it will say "MainMenu Version". This will NOT overwrite your current mainmenu, it will add my map to it. Just reference the location of your mainmenu in serenity before applying the patch.

The Story: (Please Read!)

After the Flood was unleashed on High Charity, many Covenant flagships took off to continue the onslaught of Earth, and to escape the infection. One of these flagships was damaged from a previous battle, and was not fully repaired before take-off, allowing a small group of flood infection and combat forms to board the ship.

After coming out of the slipspace rupture, the crew was overtaken by the flood on board, and the ship was crash-landed just outside New Mombassa. The infection spread throughout the surrounding towns.

The military sent out it's finest soldiers, equipped with armor to protect them from the infection. Along with the finest weapons they had to offer. They must protect the people of Mombassa from the flood.

Mod Information:
[ YES ] System Linkable
[ YES ] Weapon Mods (Balanced Weapons, for fair games)
[ NO! ] Skin Mods (There are new fog effects and Skymap)
[ NO! ] Physics Mods
[ YES ] Lighting Mods
[ YES ] Vehicle Mods

Mod in Action. Not Lightened.

Changes:
Bipeds:
-MC swapped for ODST
-Elite Swapped for Flood Human Form
-BOTH PLAYER TYPES HAVE AIM ASSIST ON EACH OTHER
-Flood has cool First Person Arms

Weapons: (All human, since there are no covenant on the map)
- Plasma Rifle swapped for Elite SMG (More Accurate, 2x zoom)
- Plasma Pistol Swapped for Semi-Auto BR (Slightly Higher Power than Normal BR, 20 round clip, 5x scope)
- Battle Rifle is Fully Automatic 10 Rounds Per Second, 60 Round clip, Scope Nulled.
- Brute Shot swapped for Rocket Launcher (1 round clip, no more rocket whoring)
- Brute Plasma swapped for Elite Shotgun (10 round clip, Faster RoF, More Powerful. 'The Flood Killer')
- Grenades No Longer on Map, as Flood can't use them.

Vehicles:
-Warthog modified to be driven and gunned by ODST and Flood.

Scenery:
- Backwash Fog added to map, giving it a more flood-like haunting effect.
- Lightmap made with a light green tint to match Fog, Darkened a bit.
- Backwash Sky added.

Recommended Gametype Setup:
-No Starting Grenades
-Primary Light Vehi: Normal Warthog (Gauss explosion is cheap on Flood)
-Primary Weap: Battle Rifle
-Secondary Weap: Smg
-No Radar
Team Play:
-Spartans Vs Elites (ODST vs Flood)
-Better with Flood outnumbering ODSTs


FUTURE RELEASES:
This is my first publicly released Mod.

I'm thinking about going back in and adding some flood scenery to the map sometime. If anyone wants to help to make this mod more interesting to look at, I'd certainly love some help.

nice work it kinda reminds me of resident evil for 64 where you shoot zombies on the street and stuff :p

but no grenades? :cry:

Yeah, not only because the Flood can't use them, but because if the Flood are anywhere inside the blast radius (even what wouldn't even come near killing a spartan) incinerates them immediately. So they're pretty cheap. There's still a rocket launcher... and Plenty of Powerful weapons.

Like the Elite SMG.. that thing is crazy. You'd never know until you tried it.

It did that to mine in a beta build of the map. But, I resolved it before the patch's release and have had no problems since...

I made this mod for use with v1.0 of Halo 2, but I don't think that should matter.

Did you resign the map before FTPing it to your box?



If anyone else has a problem, please tell me right away, so I can fix it sooner.

I remember you made a really good mod for turf a while back in Team Imapct(i forget team names).
On Topic- This mod looks great, Kinda off balcance with flood not throwing grenades, It killed balance in my mod Dead Zone from a while ago...I suggest heretic elite bipd, It throws grenades, operates most vehicles, and best of all wont sacrafice the balance, But nice job anyway, Very good job thinking of the effort you put into this. :)

The balance isn't really off at all, as I removed grenades from the map :D. Although, The flood can be a bit of an easy target with their large head-box.. But It's better played with an onslaught of Flood coming at a small team of Elite ODST's. Makes it feel like you're actually trying to accomplish something more than getting the most kills.

Ahh, A fellow Half-Life 2 fan. Yeah, I thought alot about ravenholm while making this mod.. However there is one large difference...

Ravenholm is Terrifying. lol This mod can be, too... When you turn around and most of the Flood team is coming after you with shotguns,etc... and all you have is your Assault Rifle.
