How do I change the names of things?

How do I change the names of things for example weapons and vehicles? Also, can someone give me a link to any program I will need? Any help would be great.

this should be the right app you need, just use it to search for the text and then change it to your liking, just remember that you cant make the text longer than the original.

you need a hex editor, I recomend Hex workshop, just google it. To change the name of stuff search for the thing yu want to rename, such as "rocket launcher", then rename to your liking, then name must be shorter though, and when its shorter just fill in the rest with spaces. EDIT beat me to it, and I didn't know about that program., thats the better way

Alius Bios dosen't always work though. I belive after things are added to the map is messes up =\. Or it did with me atleast. I like the comfort of hex which really isn't that hard and is nice to rely on.

use the flashlight to search for the text string

Thanks, I found what i wanted to change but what do i do to change it? Also, why is there something that says Hold ... to ride in Pelican.

if your using a hex editor you just click on the start of the first word your changing and then type what you want, you can't type extra in though like i mean if it's 16 characters you can't have 18 unless someone knows how to fix that.

i've never edited names but you can do it just in case though.

Yeah fill the unused charachters in with spaces.

And the reason why it says "Hold ... to ride in pelican" is because the ... represents a six-charachter (hex) identifier for the bitmap. In this case, the picture of the X button.
