so ur in australia?
thats awesome!!! that could help alot
like we could have u host a game. then once a 2 or 3 people from america or anybody close together join ur game the tunnel host would shift from u to the people close together to reduce lag. u would still be party leader and host and all of that stuff but there would be less lag
the only thing i am not sure about is if the game will "blue screen" when the tunnel host shifts. I have not tried it out yet. if it does bluescreen it will be less than 5 seconds literally.
also when the beta version comes out I need people that are not in the US to help. due to fixing lag and tunnel host issue.

Ok I'll help out with Beta, but I'll be able to test more during the week. I get how the host thing would work, but that might cause some lag, maybe.... because the Xbox's try to communicate to the party leader as host, but the computer's redirect them. That would probably work though. I'll see you there, this is gonna rock, especially in Halo 1, lag is sooo huge there.

if will definatly do away with a lot of lag in both games.
it won't fix all the lag on halo 1 because halo 1 wasn't mad to be played online so it sends less packets per second.
I think halo 2 sends about 4 times as much.

Good idea to make your own, hope you can do it.
If you do, can you make it support the game my team and I are making?
It runs on Halo so it should be easy if this works with Halo 2...
If you agree to, we'll set up the UI to add a second system link option for whatever your program is called. We'll also include some detailed instructions and everything you want us to add for your program.
You know what? Screw that, I want to fully be part of this. Though instead of being like Kai, it should tunnel all games to your Xbox when you are on the system link game select screen, or at least the names of the games and they host Xbox name. My game will have it's own set up with filters (if we can do that... ) that will sort the games in a more Gamespy lobby sort of way.
By tunneling all the games, you can just let the tunneler run 24/7 on your computer while you choose games to join on your Xbox.
I can provide complete support for services like those stats sigs for Live. Stats can easily be done by IP or through a log on and grabbing the scores from the game at the end. This would be great to see how well you are doing compared to every one else.
Anything you need help with (besides the program itself), just let me know. I just need to kill the ATA password on my Xbox HD (let's just go with "locking gone bad" with that one) and the HD in my desktop, not that anyone uses that...
Also, for names...
7:39 Hmm...
7:41 still thinking...
7:42 um...
7:43 xBridger?
xTunnel?

As the many young men of African American descent sayWaywornMmmmm wrote:You should name it something different if it also supports halo 1 play.
"True dat"
Not to mention, you can't have connect in it, it's not original enough.
XBConnect, oh boy, you replaced the XB with Halo 2.
Not to mention, you can easily add support for other games, and it should at least support Halo 1.
xTunnel, xBridge, something like that.

How can it help lag in Halo 1? If it tries to switch host the game will end and say the SL was experiencing problems. I'd rather it just switch host in H2, not H1.Jbiz0813 wrote:if will definatly do away with a lot of lag in both games.

I could set up a forum with phpNuke, right now in fact. Well, maybe later, it's only 1:30 and I just got home from summer PE... It can be used as a base for discussion on features. I'll get right to it as soon as I move my notebook back to my "office" (aka, the counter in my basement that has a 9" tv and a printer/scanner combo)
Any tunneler can grab information from the game, such as the score for a specific player. Run that through some sort of algorithm (depending on how you want the scoring to go) and stick it into a database, such as a SQL database. With the set up of the site I'll be making for you in a few minutes, you'll have two SQL databases, on you can use for the site, the other you can use to store the stats.
There are three possible ways you can record stats for players. Here they are from worst to best:
Player name - bad because any one can use your name
IP - becuase what if you are playing on someone elses computer or your router doesn't support it?
User name linked to site - you can attach a password or link it to the forum on the site, therefore it is secure and players can always log in to the tunneler system like they do on Xlink Kai.
Back to the actual recording, you can grab the stats by having the app look at the packets being transfered and then determine what game is being played, who is playing, what each individual score is, even what color the players are. Xbox live does the same thing, only it's more integrated. Now, if you do get this done, what we need is our own thing like gamercards...
Edit:
The site I'll be getting you for now (as in this shouldn't be permenant) will be [whatever].byethost[#].com, what should the [whatever] be?
Edit 2:
Also, I'm working on what I think the UI should look like.

Yo FleetAdmiralBacon
Work on the thing 4 getting stats because that could be used 4 tournys or some kind of matchmaking.
U guys thinl< of a better name
I am not good at that.
EDIT: XBridge sounds cool
Some1 work on profiles and figure out a way to get sav3r symbols into the onto to ur comp so people can make XBridge ID's with them. don't do the variable ones.

Sorry, my programming help for this is purely theoretical.
Anyways, what do you think of my UI?

If you like it, thanks, if not, I'm still working on it, I'd like to help a lot with this project because I think it would be great for Project Delphi.
