Error from Max no geometery to export, I have linked Frame

Error from Max no geometery to export, I have linked Frame

HI, first time posting so be kind, Im running 3d max 8 and on exporting my "box" I'm getting error no geometry to export ? I do have a frame linked . I just did the basics build a box bitmap convert to editable mesh
texture export. This a little different then just using a level editor. But I want to get better at max plus Halo is fun, ha thanks :lol

couple things to check:
1. that the reference box is named "frame"
2. that you linked the model to the frame, not vice versa (in 3ds max, hit "h" to show the "select object by name" window, and make sure the "display subtree" box is checked, this'll show you if you have it linked properly)
