Sward color change

Post by jdb8t9 »

I would like to make a red sward. In photoshop I made the skins then applied them. But i see no change on the screen. Any help is appretiated, ask any questions that might help. I've noticed there are five skins for the sward I made three of them red (one I didn't color is named noise and the other hase no picture). Thank you once again.

If you're skinning the sword, you have to internalize it into the map. You have to internalize any skins that are not part of the map (you have to internalize skins that are found in the shared.map). You can use a program called Halo2IB (internalize bitmap) to internalize the bitmap or you can just internalize the bitmaps manually by not injecting the skin in the map you're editing butin the shared.map. I can't give you the program right now. There is anslo another way to change the clor of the sword to red thought. I'll check back here once I get it.

That was a FAST reply! I do have this program. and I internalized the map before injecting. That is the only time I use it correct?

I dont think you can skin the sword but you can change the shader from the sword to another shader that actually uses a bitmap and skin the bitmap that the shader uses
but if u want a red sword in an easier way click on the mode tag and find the sword in first person and third person and swap objects\weapons\melee\energy_blade\shaders\energy_blade_top and objects\weapons\melee\energy_blade\shaders\energy_blade_bottom shaders in the dependencies with objects\weapons\support_low\sentinel_gun\shaders\sentinel_gun_illum
Hope that helps a bit

I'm not sure what you mean by first and third person, or were the top and bottom shaders in the dependencies are.
