I am making a version of xbc/xlink just 4 kiiltrocity and mods. to get a breif idea what it will look like scroll down and download the notepad.
it has a bunch of advantages over xlink/xbc
it gives u room to state the name u are using in the game so it will be easeir to find thoes cheaters and give them the boot

and u will be able to put sav3r symbols on ur name on the actual app. so on ur comp u can put sav3r symbols on ur user name

very important upgrade over xbx and xlink. instead of the host having no ping, there will be tunnel hosts. who ever has the lowest ping will be pinging every one else. so almost complety lag free games kinda like xbox live.

third most important thing is u will be able to hit the the join all games/enter lan button on comp. this will make u join every game there is on the server list. when u join a game on the xbox the game u are in will come up on the server info section. unlike xbc how xbc makes the nexbc lan different then the xbc hosts.

Keep in mind that this is mainly for Killtrocity and testing mods and any other kool map packs to come.
when it comes out please download it or else it will suck if there is not enough people who have it.=)

Sounds good, if you can get people on. Also, making this work would be hard... so take your time if your taking this seriously.

Don't make it solely for killtrocity. You should include other games as well. Like other halo 2 mods sections.

He's making a tunneling program, like xbc/xlink. Except improving them with features he thinks should be added.

Sounds awsome. Can't wait to see it. I've always wanted a button to join all game, so that way, when I leave I game or I'm kicked or the connection is lost or whatever, I don't always have to go back to my computer and find another good game> I also like the low ping idea. I'm definetly going to download it. Just take your time and make it good.

It would also be good if the hosts where catagorized into different sections, like Mod Testing, All Hosts, Skin Mods, ect. And have the option to when choosing to join all host from which catagory you want to join all host from.

right on twinbird!!!!! that is why I started making this!!!!
I will make it for all halo 2 related things
I know this will be hard but I know people that know C++ and use it 10 hours a day so it will be easy

what makes this better than xlink or xbc is that the master server is only used as a directory. U will have to disable a firewall on ur router that lets u directly host a game. when u host a game on xbc everyones comp has to talk to the xbc master server. if people directly communicate that means there is less distance ur game has to travel which means less ping and almost no lag.

for those of you who don't und3rstand it, h3r3 it is in a nutshell
a pretty much lag free version of connect 4 playing killtrocity and any other stuff.

Sounds great! The link you gave in the post doesn't seem to work for me. Can you give me another link? Also, do you know where I can download xlink (homepage), because I want to see what it like since I onl have XBC.

I gave up with xlink I could never get games to show up on my box i only played like 10 games with it

Two things.

1) Can you also make this for Halo 1? I know that would help me out a lot because I mod Halo and Halo 2.

2) I don't know if the whole host thing would work becuase in SL Party leader is host. So whoever starts a party (not a room) is host. If I start a room and it says someone else has less ping, that person would have to start a room to become the host. So, if you can figure out a way around that, that's amazing.

i'll make it 4 halo 1 too, i never got into the whole halo 1 xbox modding
the host thing will work
in the game the xbox will think the party leader is the connection host but we will switch it around so whoever has the lowest ping will ping everyone else. since this is over the internet we are talking about whos computers are pinging each other not the xbox. it doesn't matter who the xbox thnks is the connection host becasue all there are doing is communicating with the computer.

also the main cause of lag for xbc and xlink is people have to talk to each other through a master server. our master server will only be used as a directory to to help people find games. then your computer will be directly linked to the person in ur party who has the best connection(connection host).

The official name is H2C thanks to Twinbird24

when the beta version is released, probably july 18, we wil need testers. all u have to do is play games, talk about the lag,and any other problems or improvements that should be made. by helping us u wil be able to start clans and use sav3r symbols in ur H2C ID name.
If u don't help us, to start clans and use sav3r symbols u will have earn ranks by playing tournies.

The full version will be released probably around 16 of august.

I'll definitely be there to try it out.

I mainly use xlink but also dabble with XBC(although i find more cheaters on XBC).

PM me when it comes out - as i'm more of an avid player (dont come onto HMods too often), and aleady have a local Australian playerbase playing killtrocity.

Me being in OZ would be able to help you out wiht the ping testing side of things.
