I may just make an awesome civi hog to go with the next version of this mod , all chromed out and such.

The next version of the MC is also going to look a LOT cleaner; he will not have the muddy look about him.

You're wrong. There are many shader changes displayed here, it is not a simple texture.

Dxt 5 is just another format like dxt 3 or 1 except I think it has a more versatile alpha than dxt 3 just as dxt3 has a more versatile alpha channel than dxt 1.

I love it, it gives back the loss of the Halo 1 gloss effect, now I would love to see this on an Elite, I miss the shiny Elite armor the most out of anything.

The updated one looks alot nicer trep!
The new scratches although a sinch (If thats a word or even how you spell it) makes it look alot nicer...Now you need the new gloves and the scratches in the other parts of his armour.


For the record saving a bitmaps as DXT5 and removing the alpha channels does make it look very glossy, I still don't know the reason why, Forgotten hope features DXT5 textures which make the skins look like they've been dipped in gloss, maybe if the lightmap was original you'd see what I mean...I even demonstrated it in a thread in the pictures section "Which MC looks better" where one was DXT5 and the other was DXT3...
It might just be because of the deleted alpha channel though :lol: never bothered doing them seperate!

no. halo 2 does not have real time refelections. its all cubemaps. im pretty sure all of halo 1 was cubemaps as well.


edit: no i changed my mind, halo 1 didnt have real time reflections, its all cubemaps.

The strange thing is, the real time reflection that you see there doesn't appear when you are playing co-op/splitscreen(for the MP version).
