Someguy on another forum I go to posted about this...............
Really weird site..It's called eon8. I highly suggest you don;t go there, but search it on wikipedia. It's counting down to July 1st...Not sure what for but's it's freaking me out!!! Can someone tell me what's going on with the site???

I suggest you go to this site before entering eon8, if you really want to, it shows a vid on what it is-

It shows what eon8 is...I still suggest not to go to eon8 because I'm afraid I'm screwed now or something!

Anyone else know what on earth this is?

Wow, people clearly aren't familiar with a viral marketing scheme, except the wikipedia post. Ever heard of ilovebees? ourcolony.net? oragami? This is a website generated by a company, perhaps the one mentioned in the wikipedia article, to make a hype about an upcoming product, it clearly works well, or you wouldn't be posting this here.

EDIT2: No, I'm serious, this is just a viral marketing scheme, not a global cyberterrorist countdown.

I don't know what to think about it. It's more likely its a fake, is it supposed to spook me that they can display my IP on my screen if I try to go into secret areas? That is so basic, you can access peoples IP on forums, I can track people's IP's on my homepage, so what?

And what's with that list of referers? I don't quite understand what that is. But I don't think there is anything to worry about, but, however, I could be wong.

Simple Answer: If it was a terrible site with a terrible cause, it would be gone.

Especially because people are making such a big deal about it, it would definatly have been put under investigation and out of the internet.

I was gonna use a custom referer extension to leave some html and css which would cause their entire security page http://www.eon8.com/security to have a big background with LASER WAS HERE(ok, maybe i would've done something a bit more subtle), but they've started filtering referers.
