is it possible to remove chat from multiplayer?

is there anyway to disable the chat function (or even the whole thing on the left side of the screen that tells you who killed who)? if so can you please tell me how? thanks.

It's not really worth it, I'v seen it changed befor but they would all have to have the mod and even then i think you would need to do some hex editing.

well its not supposed be for everyone on the server. the reason im asking is because my younger siblings would like to play and itd probably be best if they werent reading people saying "U FUCKIN NOOB SHITSHITSHIT" etc... so i was just wondering if there was any (hopefully simple) way to disable the chat features.

if you run halo in safemode, you will not have chat, but you also wont have a radar... that bout all i know...

i think someone made a mod/ppf that removes in game chat text (i think bitterbanana made it, i dunno)
