swaping characters using insolence
im going to finish up my sp mod series and i need to know how to swap a heretic elite with a jackle and i want the heretic elite to have a sheild so im going to use insolence for it so the heretic elite has a sheild, can anybody post a tut

To give a heretic elite a shield, I would say add starting weapon to its bipd tag.
Its quite simple. Find a map that has a sentinel enforcer, and open it up in Entity Beta 1. Find the tag and go to the chunk cloner, Find the chunk with a weapon in it. Select its Node and Hit "Copy to Clipboard".
Now open up your map and go to the heretic elite. Click on the node that opens up with all the other nodes and hit "Add reflexive or chunk". Now add meta to map.
Now go the the bipd tag and go to indents, Find the weapon and swap it to the jackal shield.
This is just a theory, But it should work.

1. Drag and drop the Jackal biped tag in to ur map. I used 03a new mombassa I dont remember if it asks for single player shared or not but either way have it ready
2.Find and open the bipd tag jackal
3.Make the following revisions
Next to Default Team, double-click on 7.) New Covenant and change that to 1). Player
Change the Grenade Velocity from 0 to 10-so you can thrw grenades
Change the Grenade Count from 0 to 4-so you can actually have grenades
Change the Jump Velocity from 2.1 to 3.08-this is optional as it only makes you jump like the chief/elite
Change the Max Hard Landing Time from 2 to 0-this isnt manditory but I strongly advise because if you dont change this then you have to wait to move every time you jump
Change the Min Soft Landing Velocity from 1 to 1.5
Change the Min Hard Landing Velocity from 3 to 7
Change the Max Hard Landing Velocity from 6 to 12
Change the Standing Camera Height from 0.6 to 0.62-not neccassary just makes it so ur not at jackal height which i dont like cause I wanna be as jackal as possible
Change the Crouching Camera Height from 0.3 to 0.45-same thing
4.go to the hlmt tag objects/characters/jackal/jackal
5.click all dependencies and change the first nulled out shader dependencie to objects/characters/elite/shaders/active_camo
6.Go to unknown 2 and then all dependencies
first shad to objects/characters/elite/shaders/elite_plasma_shield_fp
change the wierd yyyyy tag to shad and make it objects/characters/elite/shaders/elite_plasma_shield
change the first nulled out effect(effe) to effects/objects/characters/elite/shield_damaged
change effects/objects/characters/jackalshield_depletion to effects/objects/characters/elite/elite_shield_depletion
change the last nulled out effect(effe) to effects/objects/characters/elite/shield_recharge
change the next nulled out shad to objects/characters/elite/shaders/elite_overshield_fp
and the last one to objects/characterseliteshaderselite_overshield
Finnaly we need to actually put the jackal in the game. Theres like ten ways of doing it I'll do the way that isnt a big gaylord to do
go to matg globals/globals
open it in dev mode
go to unknown 8
go to chunk 3 for elite. Or if youv wanted it to be mc the whole time change the sounds and shaders to the master chiefs and choose chunk 2
change the elite_mp dependencie to objects/characters/jackal/jackal
So right now you have a playable jackal but it has some issues. The HUD is retarded like youll see and if you have jackal shield on the map like half the time itll strt with it. Also it has jackal health so one snipe ur done. Be careful
