You forgot to mention though how the pp + br "noob" combo can kill most elites in one to two shots in the head. On Legendary!rossmum wrote:Getting within melee range of an Elite on Halo 2 is suicide, actually.
And 5-25 per level on Halo? Get out, more like up to 50, and only slightly more on Halo 2.
What are you talking about? The Halo rings were NEVER weapons to the Covenant. Go play the game again. The science of Kaboom wrote:and also it went down hill with the covies perspective changing from weapon to holy thing.
I'd say Halo 2 is a lot harder. The Grunts are still pathetically weak and stupid, but in packs with portable guns they can cause major hurt. The Elites are smarter and actually make better use of cover and in some cases are insanely strong, the Jackals are about the same and they have snipers who totally own on Heroic or Legendary. Brutes are incredibly tough enemies, and Drones are really hard to hit with most guns because they're so fast, and they hurt in packs. And Hunters are useless in Halo, I've killed pairs of Hunters in Halo on Legendary in 2 shots (one each) with no damage, but been absolutely whooped by them in Halo 2. And the battle rifle and pistol are exactly the same weapon in terms of range, power, etc... they just look different and one fires in bursts. But notice it fires 12 bursts per magazine, and it takes 3-4 to kill on a headshot... Same as the pistol. So technically the pistol is in Halo 2. And the SMG is basically a slightly weaker, dual-wieldable AR. Go back and play both games, because some of you are clearly confused, or just stupid enough to try take on Hunters with a plasma pistol in Halo 1...
I agree on the autoaim though, that was just stupid. I suspect it was done to try balance Live out a bit, but... ugh.
Halo 2's campaign sucked.
It was much harder than h1s, but nowhere near as fun.
And the halo 1 AR was the best gun ever in any game.
Just the feeling you got while mowing down grunts

I liked that, it made it more challenging.
One thing that I really enjoyed about both games, and most of you should agree about this with me, is the soundtracks.
Also, in Halo 1, you can do the same thing: PP and the Pistol.

When there's 4 elites and 6-7 grunts around the corner, that doesn't always work, especially on open levels like Outskirts where there are sniper everywhere as well. You have to make sure that you can't get attacked by anything else.imgettionowned wrote:You forgot to mention though how the pp + br "noob" combo can kill most elites in one to two shots in the head. Battle rifle's good for anything, I can get through any given non-Flood level of the game using only a BR or Carbine. They can kill Grunts and Jackals quickly, kill Elites quickly and easily, and take down a Brute in a decent amount of time. It works on Flood too, although not anywhere near as well as the shottie or Sentinel beam. I try and keep one as much as possible, same goes for multiplayer.th3_halord wrote:I liked that, it made it more challenging.

As for the skill to play thing... that is 110% thanks to the autoaim.

Must...kill...autoaim...

Brutes ruined H2 in my opinion. The way the flood look in H2 compared to Halo, they look terrible. The hunters weapons in H2 are not too exciting. The arbiter campaign was a waste of time. I liked in Halo how the grunts screamed when stuck with a plasma grenade or whenever they saw you. Levels like the Maw in Halo will beat any H2 level. However, levels like Headlong, Backwash, Terminal, etc. beat Halo in a few aspects. Though, Halo was a few good levels that are impossible to beat, such as Hang em High and Boarding Action.
Also, did anyone in Halo come up with nicknames for the flood? Well, the flood that blow up and have the little things come out. I called them BJ's, because their job is to blow.

Maybe during your camain as an Arbiter you work with humans? It would only make sence because at the end of H2 the Arbiter is talking with Johnson and whatsherface about stopping halo from destroying the universe. So the whateveritsnameis robot tells them that the Ark can stop it then Arbiter asks where the Ark is. And that is, Earth (more than likely).
So it would be in the greatest intention of the Humans/Elites/Hunters/some grunts and stuff to stop Halo from destroying everything. So it is more than likely that you will be working with humans.
I like the Arbiters campain, its cool and all, its just.... I didnt really enjoy seeing things from the covenants view, I do in the books, but ingame, it got kinda really boaring to me for some reason.
I did like the part where you kicked bruteass and killed other Covenant, I just dont like working alongside with the whole Covenant race.

I hated when someone would kill you everytime you would respawn, and there would be a pile of your dead bodies.Cuda wrote:every time I play halo or Halo 2 co-op with siblings, they always instist on either stealing my guns when theyre out of ammo, driving, or turreting and killing me in co-op :/
I thought animated sigs weren't allowed Cuda.....

In my opinion, Halo 2's single player and multiplayer were better than the first. In Halo 2, your allies can drive the vehicles. In Halo 2, you can switch guns with your team mates. In Halo you can hijack enemy vehicles while your enemies are inside of them. In Halo 2, you can dual weild. Halo 2 has thousands of better feautures than the first.

If you can't get Single player right, you're not a good game in my opinion.
Don't get me started on the bump mapping.
=/

I like pie!
Once again! The feeling is mutual.Warbandit mk 3 wrote:You sicken me.
All those things you mentioned are miniscule. They're little addon's to the gameplay. While they're nice, the game isn't that different without them, except for dual wielding, which in my opinion should've been in the first game to begin with (come on, it was even in Marathon). The Single Player's flaw is that it's just boring. I don't care how many features it has, the only reason I ever replayed a level was to find some hidden secret, while in the original I still freakin play the SP simply because it's fun.
