no.
1. My notebook would never handle Vista, it only has 256mb of memory (or was it 128... hmm)
2. My desktop has 480mb. (yes, I was like "wtf?" too when I found that out)
3. I like XP just fine, in fact, if 3ds max ran on 98, I'd be using 98 second edition.

the only reason i may get vista is for the next series of games coming out that will be programmed for windows, and not linux. if i get a laptop, it'll have 2 partitions, one for backtrack (pentesting linux distro) and one for xp/vista (so i can play games).
in my opinion, the only thing windows is good for is gaming and casual things, otherwise it's just not very efficient.
windows - expensive, gui hogs up system performance, targeted by viruses, spyware, hackers, and all the other nasty things on the net.
linux - powerful os, completely free, extremely customizable, and the workhorse of the internet.

i'll pick up backtrack before vista. those of you interested in both linux and security would be interested. but vista will still get all the games made for it.

I used Whoppix before WHAX (never got a chance to try WHAX, kernel always failed, don't know why). I'll definately check this out, thanks for the link.[cc]z@nd! wrote:i'll pick up backtrack before vista. those of you interested in both linux and security would be interested. but vista will still get all the games made for it.

It looks like DirectX 10 is going to be exclusive to Vista so I think I'm going to have to get it. ;\

Hell yes...
If your computer can run it i recommend getting vmware. Its a virtual pc in which you can run xp and vista at the same time, sure it takes up loads of ram and is kinda slow but hey its worth it. I got Windows Vista Beta 2 and Windows xp all on one machine! I must say Vista is pretty cool.
p.s.- vista is gonna have media center built into it this time...
