I need help adding fire

Post by JGrizzo »

I want to add fire to my map. unfortunately none of the tuts I've read are helping. My mod is already pretty far into production My map is Coag and so i cant use the tut where you put a machs speed to 0. because I would be doing it with glitchys but that would be improper meaning i cant transfer any more tags to my map which i will be doing in the future. So if anyone can point me in the direction for a tut on how to add fire that would be alot of help. Thanks!

Inject the fire scenery then duplicate itmc's then you would go to scnr. And clone chunks. Then use insolence or h2cp ( i think the one by monkey terd? if he made one?) to spawn the itmc. Then go to entity's bsp viewer to move the fire to wherever you want.
Accept Change.

as soon as i add a new tag to my map it no longer opens in Entity's BSP viewer. I tested to make sure. I opened my map in Entity's BSP and it worked fine. Then I transfered the fire from warlock. and thats ALL i did was transfer it and now my map wont open in Entity's BSP viewer. It says "index was outside the bounds of the array. Also once i transfer tags it wont let me add chunks. it gives me the same "index" error. pretty much once i transfer a tag it wont let me do much of anything to the map. Is there something with the fire. or what this is frusturating

Try moving tags with insolence, if that doesn't work make sure that the recursive and parsed is checked on Entity and drag-and-drop.
Either that or you will have to extract and build using entity.
If none of those work. Use a clean map and start the mod over and make sure you add all the things first.
