Help with getting character models in Settings menu

hello everyone, my friend and I are trying to figure out how to mod our xbox's so that we can make videos. We need to learn how to format the "appearance" setting under the profile settings in halo 2 so that we can choose different character models other than elites. Please post if you know what to do with a GOOD description. We have gotten character models to work in multiplayer but the game always ends up freezing or we cannot see them from other xbox's during system link. When the modded xbox is host, the other xbox's wont join the game properly. Thanks alot to anyone who is able to help.
