Can't fly the banshee.

Post by Ash »

I'm trying to spawn a Banshee out of a PP on High Charity. I used Insolence to get the banshee from The Arbiter into HC. And I changed it so that a charged PP spawns a Banshee.

But the problem is that I can't drive it. I can flip it, run into it, blow it up, etc. but not drive it.

I looked in Dothalo for seats and they're there... I looked in the hex and the string for piloting it is there.

So how do I drive it after I've spawned it? Holding X does nothing and the message doens't come up.....

You have to transfer the jmad to get the Banshee to pe pilotable.

In DotHalo, if you go down to seat 0, at the bottom, does it say 'disable driver seat'? Cause you'll have to uncheck that if it does.

No it's showing up as drivable and stuff, nothing how it shouldn't be. And thanks, I didn't know about the jmad tag, I'll try that.

Transferring the [jmad] is the only way.

OK, am I supposed to transfer the jmad and then the vehi? I tried transferring vehi first, and then when I transferred jmad, nothing seemed to happen... So I transferred the jmad first, and then the vehi.

But now when I spawn it, I have the same exact problem - except now the top half of the banshee isn't connected to the rest of it - it's detached by like 2 feet. :?:

what jmad are you transfering? because if you cant drive it has to do with the player's jmad.

Just transfer a banshee from Cairo Station. The reason it doesn't work, is because you got it from The Arbiter, where you do not play as MC.

That still won't do it. You have to do something with the jmad.

OK thanks, I'll try all these suggestions. Where do I get the editor? I've never heard of it (I don't come here often)

Edit: I transferred the jmad of the Banshee..

You can get the Banshee Barrier Editor from http://files.halomods.com

You can't just get into the Banshee on a level that does not have one in it to begin with.

If I am wrong, then prove me wrong please, because I don't think you can just do it that easy.

if adding the jmad to the banshee makes it flyable, then could you do the same thing to turrets so that the host(modder) can fly them? Ive always wondered about how to go about being able to fly those

I don't think that will work.

I'll have to look, but it sounds to me like the same problem that people have with the pelican. Make sure that the banshee's driver seat has the id "banshee_d" or something like that.

Oh, and as far as I can tell vehicle's are atomic. Meaning that if a biped can drive the vehicle in SP it should not be hard to make it work in MP, unless the only interactions are scripted (like the scarab).
