keep getting error
I keep recieving the following error just after the dos windows open:
16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.
It deletes the Halo folder and some of the Halo 2 stuff (maybe just the unnecessary items). Says Copying Halo 2...Done Copying Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack...In Progress. Any ideas?

This happens to me when I try to launch from Evox. If you launch from startup the disk should be okay, also you could try including the above file, but you may need to modify the compile script to do it, as many files like that are deleted.Error!
No definition file (eather b:\cdxmedia\cdx_fffffff.inx or b:\cdxmedia... then the rest is off the screen

That is because the scenario location is different from what it says on the mainmenu.ArmedTHEukCHEF wrote:yep that worked, plays ok, loads halo 2 amp but only plays maps up to blue night on foundation, the rest says failed to load,
but dont load
halo combat evolved
halo conversions
halo nmp
halo mnp 2
halo cxe
halo maps final
the screen just goes blank
Your sig can't exceed 75kb in file size.
I found this problem a long time ago, it is Bungie's pathetic attempt at copy protection. The main menu uses different deinition files for different load peramiters. I thought I had included all the different files but I must have missed one. Does the error actually say "cdx_fffffff.inx" or are the "f"'s a number?ArmedTHEukCHEF wrote:ive managed to burn it now, as i got a e mail from Killzers saying to burn the image in nero using the udf/iso format and under the udf tab click make xbox compatable, this all worked fine and my box reconizes it as a game now, but i get a error screen saying
Error!

any help?
P.S.
The next beta release is almost ready to go, should I start a new tread or just continue this one? It's getting fairly cluttered and I would like people to notice when I release the next beta.

Re: keep getting error
This is a problem with your computer not the installer. Call Microsoft.[KcK]CapTiaN wrote:I keep recieving the following error just after the dos windows open:

Can you please make this one so it can be used without all the misc. files on the Maptacular disk? I'm sure 4/5 people got the maps off of XBL without a disk.
I have everything except the stupid videos folder off of that disk and the whole process fails. WHY do you need the videos....
I'm not about to drop 20 bucks on this disk when I already have the important parts off of XBL.
Please make it a little easier to deal with when you don't actually own the disk. All of us have the maps, just not the little files this thing demands.

I'll try do something about it in the next beta release.Boydster wrote:Can you please make this one so it can be used without all the misc. files on the Maptacular disk? I'm sure 4/5 people got the maps off of XBL without a disk.
