Yeah, it seems that way. I wonder why no one has come out even told you exactly what you needed to successfully convert, even. Guess you guys missed the post....
In a topic a the Gearbox forums, he said that along with the AotCR mod, he would be releasing the newest version of HMT, as well as a tutorial by someone who doesn't want info on the tutorial or their name released yet, on how to convert maps from SP to MP.
