M16A1 Version 1.5.

Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

M16A1 Version 1.5.

Post by rossmum »

You guys might remember the M16 I was working on late last year... Not happy with the model, I tweaked some stuff and now have something I'm at least content with until I learn to plane model (I will one day, I swear!)... Anyways, not TOO detailed as that can be skinned on, but not a low-poly piece of shit either. About 3500 polies.

Crap pics, I know... gimme some time to get either Reaper or Tabasco (or both) to render...

Awsome model Rossum, I wish my dog was that 1337 :\

Just out of curiosity, what technique did you use to do that? Plane modeling, box modeling?

If you say box modeling im going to take back what I said about it being a nice model because being it box modeling instantly makes it suck

just kidding, even if it was box modeling id still like it

that doesn't say what method he used to model it. it only says what method he DIDN'T use.

Spline. Blech.

Hmm... apart from the low-polyness, looks OK to me... you're probably thinking of the M16A2 handle and sight, the M16A1 only had a rather basic rear sight. Not sure if that's what you meant though.

Ok, consider it done. *fires up gmax*

Dammit, that's the one thing dad didn't notice on the model (he built an M16A1 from a kit)

Now to go ask Reaper for the 10th time to render it... *racks shotgun*

My crappy Gmax viewport snaps:

That took me ages to fix... but it's good enough now.
