i may not be any help to you, but at a quick glance, i'd say the fourth
(this opinion was based on a quick glance at the following information for each choice: final price, memory, hard disk space)

As tempting as the XPS looks, if it were up to me I would get #2, 100 gig HDD and an Intel Core Duo. You're a lucky duck to own any of those anyway :D

Get A Vaio Like Mine. I'm not quite sure what it is, because I got it in Japan last summer. It has only broke once for me. (dropped it on the sidewalk and had a huge lightining crack going down the screen.)

I personally LOVE hp's, very reliable to me (had one for 6 years before it became TO out of date, so i went and got a newer one) and their tech support rocks

Now i got an HP Pavilion Ze4900 And love it

My brother just bought an Inspiron 6400 E1505 (#4), and it seems to be a pretty good piece of equipment. Especially with the memory, hard drive space, and low price.

No they don't. My XPS owns asshole.

Anywho, are you planning on traveling a lot with your computer? Because if you just want a laptop for no real reason, just get a desktop. They are cheaper for better quality.

Well if it's a laptop that you want from that list, I'd probably go with the #2 choice.
