Skinning question
I wanted to know how to make a skin to put on a model i made. I am a noob plz help!!
you have to have photoshop or fireworks. I'm not sure if the latter will work because of it's borders
.
you have to have a dds plugin.
you have to have hmt3.
you open up a map file on hmt3. go to bitmaps, and select the bitmap of your choice. on the tag editor, click save texture. do so.
open up photoshop.
open up the dds file that has the texture you want.
when it prompts you for MIP maps, click no.
your map is open!
make a new layer for you to work in.
use the polygon lasso tool and move it into the shape you want.
use the paint bucket tool. it changes color! (woo!)
make your changes.
go to layer and click 'flatten image'.
save (under a different name)
open up hmt3 (map doesn't matter)
go to the bipmap section and to your bitmap.
click 'inject texture'
you should get a popup that says that your texture was successfully imported.
congrats! You have just made a Halo skin!
