I read about this about a year ago. It's possible that the guy who sent the P-P-P-Powerbook was caught in a legal backfire he didn't expect. Because of his actions, a person was defrauded around $300 in an easilly traceable (and already recored) manner. He could be in jail right now.

The other option is that this whole thing is just another joke started by some random prankster.

no, that would require the Scammer confessing to attempt to scam Jeff out of a two-thousand dollar laptop, and since e-bay already had a record of the attempted scam before jeff got his revenge, it would not be a smart thing for the scammer to do.

Besides, a case that awesome would have been on CNN.

Yea I saw it last night and I was pissed that I hadn't seen it earlier becuase all of the origianl extra photos and movies not included in the pdf are no longer being hosted
