Yeah, none of the mods are on except Spartan. We all see flame wars and stuff on the forums, and before Spartan came, no one would lock crap. None of the mods are ever on unless they are hidden. And even then, they don't do anything to prevent all of this crap. Hopefully spartan can bring back some order back to the forums.

I will do my best to keep the forum spam free when I am online.
I guess I have only locked one topic so far, but i'll lock anything that's not suitable, or off topic.

Anyway, thanks for saying i've done something as this is day #1 of me being a moderator (or knowing that i am one, as i found out today).

Yeah, I'd like to be a mod, in the last 7 pages of my post history I've been good. I've been a mod at my own site, I'm a leader of a movie team(stress, anyone?). But yeah, I've really not had any experience with moderating, but you have to start somewhere. If anything is open.

Ah yes, if you guys [HaloMods Staff] need me for any help on anything, just let me know. I have and do moderate and administrate at more forums then I can remember, but if you guys want any help or suggestions for the forum or anything like that I'd be glad to help that way.

In regards to WaLKa he's a great guy, I knew him back when he was just GLi7CH or even Puma_X back at RvB. Anyways, time flies. And once again Spartan I'm sure you're going to be a even more respectable person at this community.

-Edit-

If you guys want I can recomend some phpBB MOD(s) to make the forum a little more interesting, or just easier for you guys to keep track of. For example you could move all your Moderators into different usergroups for special purposes and then set up a Bot to release sumbitted work...anyways I'm rambling now but that's just my 2 cents.

Is this post just full of people nominationg themselves  I might as well add myself 8) :P <stupid face Evar. IMO both sites need dedicated moderators. people modded for the forums aside from the mods that are never on. And why hasnt the HEX been deleted yet? One more thing id like to add is is the file fourm needs another mod. dont get me wrong the 3 there are great but they cant be online 24/7 and with all these stupid guest posts it gets really annoying. ever thought of disabling this feature?

As for the bandwidth, people need to look for own hosts more instead of uploading here.
Ofcourse, you can upload here, but most people forget to compress it, or many mods are not even worth the upload.

how many posts today hunter? 150? well as I said before I really think would should put up a donation section on the site, I mean Im sure most people wouldnt mind donating a few bucks even if we had people donate a dollar, with as many people as we have on this site gren could pay for two years worth of web hosting. And if gren needed more moderators im sure he would have posted about it if he was intrested in any of us. You can always help gren and the rest out without being a moderator, just pm or im them with concerns about anything or if u see somthing u know shouldnt be posted, if everyone was doing that instead of posting more and more on those threads just saying mod lock this, it would clean this site up much faster than if he got 20 new moderators. If he is intrested in adding new mods to the team, I really think the best way to do it is assign mods to certain forums, according to their strengths, if someone was one of the best at scripting he would be dedicated to that forum, if someone was best or most knowledgable for modeling and skinning, have him/her there, and if someone was just an all around guy then get him in the general boards etc. I think this would help on supplying info and cleaning up the boards much easier, insteading of having a few on all the different forums then just have them dedicated to one so that they dont have this huge burdon on their sholders and having people posting "ah the mods arnt doing their jobs!" maybe have the actual people at this site vote for who they think would be good for each or somthing, not by poll but like post names and forums, and only those who have a few number of posts to prevent cheating and such but I dont know these are just my oppinions if they make sense or not thats just how I see making this site successful and clean.

I hate to say this, and i don't want others to get mad, but we can't have too many moderators, i think the system would get out of hand with too many. Sure, if Gren or Walka can add another mod or two, maybe for the tricks section, that's fine. But too many.....

I agree totally I wasnt saying have 30 mods, I was just trying to say splitting up the forums for certain mods I think would work well, u could always group some together for example:
news- 1 mod
mapping and modeling and skinning - 1mod
scripting- 1
pc general-one
xbox general and editing-1
mac -1
and for the rest you could give each of those another one and maybe have one more mod for splitting that up evenly and correctly, this way its only adding 2-3 new moderators, and if possible to limit the moderators to their dedicated boards we can limit that "chaos" that would be possible if so many were incharge of the whole site. Hey I dont know if this would work real well, I am just throwing out ideas that can help the site out, with what we have now we have some unacceptable threads staying on and unlocked for a week and Im just trying to see what we can do to stop it is all.

It works for some people, others hate that idea. Still a nice idea anyway.
There should be at least 2 mods for each forum i say.

Now, where is my "Halo: The Fall of Reach" forum when i need one....just joking. There will only be a forum when i release the next demo and if the mods like it! :-)

There should also be someone responsible for managing all the other mods.... also, Beastman, your idea for donation won't get Gren anywhere, for good web hosting (he has good now but for even better) he has to pay like $300, think he pays $120 now. Donations of $1 won't help him much. I think his google adds are giving him money though, they are a bit off topic.

Hes paid 800 since the site began but what I was explaining is that even a dollar, woudl make a huge difference, think about it we have (just on the regualr forums) 2500 people and what maybe 500 still visit the site, but that and the ones from files.halomods that isnt somthing to shy away from. even if we got a dollar from 150 people that would help out gren alot.....

Are you on drugs? Or perhaps your simply blind. Of course us moderators aren't on the forums 24/7 like you cuz we have lives, but more than once a day we check them.

As for the flame wars, those are normally started by you (not lately) or your little Anti-Newb groupies.

How do you expect us to prevent the spam and flames? We can't control people's actions. If you want to post flames or spam, how can a moderator stop you? We can't, we can only react. That's why its up to the forum members [atleast those old enough to understand what I'm talking about] to exert control over themselves and stop flaming, spamming, telling people what to do, etc.

You don't have to put people/newbs down to make yourself look good (maybe you think you do....but you're wrong). Answer the questions you can, ignore the ones you find redundant or 'newbie', when someone makes a mistake in posting (double post, accidentally spam, Off-topic stuff) correct them in a civil manner.

It takes time for us to read every single new post that has occured since the last time we visited the forums.

BTW: all these comment were in response to Demonic_Spartan, but directed towards everyone who wants to help combat what's been happening to our forums lately and turn them back into the once-helpful community that was/is Halomods.

I left my "anti-newb groupies" a long time ago, and I know that you guys aren't on 24/7 because you have lives and you can react, but you guys just don't really seem to react that much. And I don't put noobs/newbs down, I [help them. And flame wars? Yeah, you're right. Actually, I really haven't started a flame war, but I was a part of them. Heck, I'll even look through my post history to make sure. Sorry for being a menance and stuff, but I guess me trying to help backfired into me being portrayed as an idiotic noob-hunter or something.
