Softmodding a Xbox 360? Possible or Not?

As the titles states, I'm wondering if it is at all possible to soft-mod an XBOX 360. If so what exploit would you use? could you mod it like a regular XBOX? I'm in doubt that you can soft mod it at all but my friend is wondering.

The only "modding" that can be done on a 360, is you can access game saves on the HDD or memory card.
So, for Halo 2 at least, AR saves is the only possible means of "mods".

I think the only way of modding the 360 would be like changeing the LED color on the consile or contorller, or adding extra buttions on a contorloer.
