No, only the earliest 'Nam M16A1s had those (although his ref is one of them). The later M16s from the mid-late 60s on had 4. I did 4 on mine just because it was easier. Also, some parts on your model are still too round... particularly around the top carry handle and receiver. Make that a little more boxy, widen the gun, and work on the sights a little, and you'll have a pretty good M16. And also I agree with Snaf, model it in seperate parts, it makes everything a LOT easier.
