Directx 10
Directx 10
Since Directx 10 comes with Windows Vista will you still have to buy a DX10 based video card (which isnt out yet) or can I use my Geforce 6800 Ultra?

microsoft said vista will be released by the end ok 2k6
but you may have to buy a new graphics card because if halo 2 pc needs dx10 than most graphics card (if not all) wont support dx10
so you thinkning like atleast $500 for halo2 pc if u need a new graphics and depending on the vista cost i think it will b about $400

kinda answered your own question. If they dont make one thats off of DX10, Yet you wonder if yours could, wouldnt that mean that you would need one that could Handle DX10?Joe333 wrote:Since Directx 10 comes with Windows Vista will you still have to buy a DX10 based video card (which isnt out yet) or can I use my Geforce 6800 Ultra?

if you don't mind me asking jks... but where did u get this information? I looked through the whole windows vista microsoft page and other sites and all I saw was people asking the same question I had.jks wrote:You can use it, but only in DX9 mode... for the new games that come out that will require DX10, you will have to get a new card.

Dumbass, Halo 2 IS NOT THE ONLY THING VISTA DOES! I hate the obnoxious people who keep saying that you wont buy it just to play H2Joe333 wrote:Well then lets see.
200$ on a new card
200$ on vista (maybe)
and 50$ on Halo 2 PC.
I'm not gonna be paying that much for Halo 2 PC unless im really desperate or I got alot of extra money in my pocket.
