well i made a new remodel that i thought wouldnt be fair if i kept it to one site well i thought id have a try at making a shoulder mounted gauss cannon and my result looks like the humans took apart a broken guasswarthog and made the cannon shoulder mounted.
what do u lot here think?
i just thought id make a gun thsat looks like it was fof a guass hog and the shield bit would be ouside of the mcs veiwing range in fp and the big man its a little hard to put a whole in the centre but il problty skin its usinging the usualy methods and release it somehwere.
But still.. MC is far more than capable holding that. And I think a shield would be a nice addition, think of it as a panzershrek (however you spell it) shield.

It serves no help. In a Panzerschreck the cover is in front of the person holding it, and serves as a method of aiming. It's also in the front of the gun, this is in the back. The only thing it'd do is get in the way. It's not like the guy is carrying it at the hip.
Railguns do have recoil, but it's minimal, since there's no really strong force pushing the projectile, it's just gently accelerating it. Every action as an equal and opposite reaction. Remember this. If the gun is projecting force in the direction of the projectile, there is force going the other way, as well, making the gun push itself backwards. It's the reason that when you fire a .44 magnum, it smacks you in the face. (guilty!) there's force going one way, and force going the other way as recoil. So, unless it's a rocket in a tube, where the projectile is self propelled and all gases are exiting the back of the weapon, there will be recoil.
