Do they work after opening them in your editor and then resigning them and closing them (not modding anything) and ftping them back?

Then you problem is not in the modding but with the signiture or the xbox.

Try getting a signing tool and after you sign the map with your editor then sign it again with your signer.

Also
You could try deleting the autoupdate or runing the original halo default.xbe

Anyone have any suggestions for this guy because I've never run across this problem.

ok, this is really easy, and it has always worked for me.
If you are modding any of the 9 new maps, you have to resign the map with CMR (coolspots map resigner).
If you are modding an old map, use TF6's Encryptomatic.

Again, it always works for me try it out!

Okay well I deleted the autoupdate and opened up mainmenu.map added warlock and then resigned it put it back. It's now saying dirty disk. I put the original back in and I stillg et the same thing. I seriosuly think it's something to do with the harddrive.

Ok first none of the map editors like dothalo or ADI reencrypt the maps. They only right the current encryption. Second TF6's encryptomatic doesnt resign unless the original map is loaded first i think. You need to use a map resigner like CMR or samesig. CMR can be downloaded at HLOin the downloads section. You need to register first.

It's saying dirty disk because mainmenu.map isn't encrypted correctly and halo doesn't want to read it.
Not a HDD error
Yeah, you can try using a program for encrypting the maps and "double" signing them so it sign it over an unsigned or messed up signiture. So you map is forced to load even if halo doesn't want to load it... make sense =S

Ok. Here is what you must do.

For any of the original maps(Coag, Lockout, Headlong etc...) after you mod them, you must:
1. Resign them with the modding program you edited them with or use TF6's encryptomatic program to resign.

2. Ftp them back to the halo\maps folder.

If they still don't work, you either:
a)Messed up the map itself. Try using Insolence to resign it, because if it is a problem with the map, it will give an error when trying to resign.

b)Your Mainmenu.map is messed up.

c)You aren't placing the maps in the right folder(I doubt you are doing this...but you never know...)

If you are trying to mod one of the 9 new maps(like you said, Relic) and you want to place it in the original tdata folder, after you mod it you must:

1. Resign it with coolspot's resigner to the default signature.

2. Ftp it back to the tdata\*the halo2 update folder*\$C\*whatever folder the map came from*\

If you want to test if the map itself isn't corrupted, resign it with Insolence, rename it to a map you know will load from the mainmenu, and load it up as that map from the menu. So, say you want to test relic, rename it to coagulation or something and transfer it to your Halo\maps directory and then run coagulation from the mainmenu.

Sorry for the wall of text. Hope it helps.

i posted this just a minute ago...
Strang3r wrote:Every map has a signature, editing the map changes the signature, when loading a map if the signature isnt recognised then the map doesnt load.

After editing a map always use a resigner then ftp it back to your console

Resigning
If the map is from the CD then it just needs to be encryptomatically signed

If its from the DLC then it needs to be signed back to its original sig

My app has a resigner that recognises what type the map is and resigns it accordingly = http://files.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?t=47347
Alternatively u could use the resigners Spammy mentions or any of the other 100's of resigners out there (they're very easy 2 make)

Ive heard of some other people getting that error, copy the whole game 2 ur PC, take out the maps you dont need (just the maps!!) then put the folder in a location that can be accessed from ur xbox

...If u still get the error it may be the CD is damaged
