Hmm, I can see the part of his arm that's there (the green part), but the actual hand, all I see is some movement, but its like, really dark in that area so I cant really tell. Dunno, maybe it's just my computer.

EDIT: I just realized somthing... You posted the "end of the world" render (or a name sumthing like that) last january. I put it up as my desktop background when you put it up. I still have it up. It's so awesome, I've had it up for a year, lol. I've had friends kum over who also love halo, look at it, and flip out at how awesome it is. My friend Chris came over, we walked into my living room (which is where this comp is), and looked at it. his jaw literally dropped. he's like "................oh my god. dude..... that's not 3d is it?" I'm like "yyyah." he was just like "..................whooaa......". That's all he said for about 30 seconds. Now, yes, he likes to joke around, so he prolly extended the time a bit for fun, but I could tell he was as truely amazed as I am by ur work. again, keep it up. love it.

Congrats!! Again I say, you do some awesome work. Have you ever made any maps? If not, you should try. I think you could do some pretty awesome things, with your talent and imagination put together, 'cause they both rock. Nicely done.

I updated my elite. I'm using Jean Luc's bump map now and I re-made the color changing maps. I also made the detail bumps a lot more visible. Here's the product.

and HERE it is in the earth scene

Where can I get Jean Luc's Bump maps, and how did you make mc and elite so shiny and what is the color code of your mc and elite?

THIS is where he released his normal bump

The elite's armor is a multi-layer material with 100% specular, 0% glossiness, and 50% anisotropy. The armor is also 35% reflective. The mc would take this whole page to explain. I'm not sure what you mean by "color code". I just made 2 masks from the change_color map and applied a greenish color over the diffuse map to get the coloring.

Also do you know how to put decals on vehicles :?:

WHere can I find the visor file and how did you apply it on your model?

And can you send me the *masterchief_diffuse_mix_amount.dds* file. Its was deleted from the mc tutorial.

update (see first post)

basically, it's just a camera flyby of the covenant fleet which consists of 600 battle cruisors and 100 capital ships. The single leviathan ship is where the chief and elite(s) are fighting and is also the point of convergence for the human and covenant fleet. the human fleet (not shown here) will also consist of 700 ships.

I think that I'll have to disable the specular bloom due to the "blinking" nebula and sun. Also, what do you think of the music?

Hi Ross, I was wondering if you could you tell me what music you used in new_bump_for_mc and cov_ship_flyby?

Thanks.

gladly, the new bump map one was "Neo Geisha" by "Zeromancer" and the cov ship flyby one was "Jillian" by "Within Temptation". I spend a lot of time searching for music that fits the moods that i'm attempting to convey. jillian will definately make the final cut as one of the songs, but neo geisha won't.

ok, haven't updated in a few days. I've been working on getting a uvw mapped orbital defense grid (space station) so I can add to the overall accuracy and scale of the fight. I have also been playing around with the new crowd behavior of the 1400 ships in the scene. It calculates positions about once every 15 seconds and there are 10,000 frames. I have to tweak a little and then restart it. Luckily I have 3 powerful computers that can each have a different itteration of the scene running at once. Should have some new renders soon.
