what program do you guys recommend for skinning. i have paintshop, but it doesnt load .dds files. does anyone know of a skinning program that loads dds files, or some way to convert it from .dds to .tif or something and then back to .dds?

there should be a dds plugin in the files forum for photoshop and paintshop. (works with both i think). and also, dds is an xbox game format image, so your comon sense instinct would kinda tell u that paint shop pro is not going to open an xbox game image file by default.

with convim, click the file location on the left, in the middle pick the type of file, then on the right click where you want it saved to.

Forget convim. Download the Paint Shop Pro DDS Plugin and put it into your "C:\Program Files\Jasc Software Inc\Paint Shop Pro 9\PlugIns" folder. You can then open up DDS files with PSP, and they will open with color. As simple as that. Hope this helped! :)

ummmm well first things first dds is the file used for PC as well as xbox and and PSP would open it if you got a plugin, just like photoshop.
