Speed of Projectiles - Sniper Bullet same as Pistol?

Ok, lately there has been a lot of talk about the speed of projectiles on the forum. I also have been wondering how to do this for awhile.

Been comparing Meta for awhile, and been getting somewhere, but really nowhere that I really want. So, I'm asking kinda a simple question and I don't know if somebody can answer it. Does the speed of a pistol bullet equal that of a sniper bullet.

Or if you do know of 2 projectiles that have the same speed can you tell me which one. Cause then when you are comparing like the sniper and pistol those 2 values in meta would be the same correct? So then you just compare one of them to like a rocket launcher and find where they are different. Ok, may not be makin a lot of sence but I know what I'm talkin about. I've seen slow rocekts done.

I did a search and saw that "flechette" has posted pics of showing rockets moving slowly. So, if your out there flechette could you please share your thoughts/notes so the rest of us meta-n00bs can shut up

only weapons i can think of that would be same speed, prob the plasma rifle and plasma pistol.

Dude, did you just now take some coke? Of course the sniper bullet and pistol bullet travel at the same speed you idiot, they are both bullets. The only freaking difference is that the sniper bullet makes a neat little trail of smoke. What the hell was your first clue of one being slower than the other?

well, his clue was probably the small difference in a pistol that you find when zooming in when you pull the trigger and the bullet hits, which is a much smaller difference from the sniper.. sure there both bullets, but sniper bullets are meant to travel fast and go through someone, and thus are streamline, where as pistol bullets travel slower and explode on impact, and the extra gunpowder in them slows em down (technically speaking, bungie made sniper bullets faster, and pistol ones slower)

Yes, but you can't actually see the bullet's speed, they seem the same; there is no point in this post as they are about the same. If you shoot a pistol bullet, it hits around a milisecond to a centi-second later. Same with the sniper rifle.

They seem the same. There's still a chance that they're not. It's less of a pain in the ass trying to figure the meta out if you know whether or not they're exactly the same. BTW: You don't have to be an asshole about, I mean really, come on.

Hive is right, I think the pistol is a bit slower, but what I mean is that the difference in the two bullets is hardly there. I mean, really, noone even cares if one's faster... eheh.

the speed doesnt mean that it wont reach the other side of bloodgulch, thats just where bungie decided for it to fall off, the speed matter even if just a little bit because we wanted to change the meta to be able to change speed in other projectiles, otherwise i wouldnt have posted my comment

well speaking of speed how about changing the speed of a tank shell to that of the Rocket...or vise-versa

omg! thats so easy!!! just take the rocket dmg, make it tank dmg. then u make the tank projectile a rocket! simple as that! (lol)

oh yeah, if u want to make the rocket tank like, change rocket model to tank shell model, then change the rocket exaust to the tank shell contrail.

or if it works like this replace the meta for the tank shell with the rocket meta leeving the model but gaining the stats of it right? like speed dmg accuracy?
