Yes, I'm so jelous that he won the contest instead of me. Just disregard the point that I didn't join.

Because everyone knows that a master chief and an elite posing on a floating plane in the middle of space with scattered ships of both species is MUCH better then this.....

fourth, the email i submitted to the contest explained that these were extracted directly from the game.
fifth, I'm not too stuck up to admit that i think your last image is better than my submission.

About that render Veegie...why does that white Elite have a Council Elite helmet and Honor Guard armor? Identity crisis! =o

Plus dude, be happy for ross, if that disgusts you then go ahead and be disgusted. If he beat you, and it was judged by Bungie's judges, then it is obviously better. But you didn't enter, now, did you? So he didn't beat you, it doesn't matter, he didn't insult you in any way, so you shouldn't be offended anyways.

Again, I'm jelous because I lost a contest I didn't enter, and the 3rd place user won because of misinterpretation. Soooo jelous. Incite flame wars elsewhere.

Oh, and by the way. I've shown Ambuscade to John Butkus and Nathan Walpole, who are both animators at Bungie. Both of them could find NOTHING wrong with it and personally liked it. Also, louis wu showed it off on a powerbook at one of his LAN parties. "All were impressed"

Play the end of gravemind, when two camo elites come out after you, there is an elite like in my render that follows them.

P.S. Veegie your bump on the walls looks too pixilated.

Because rendering time would skyrocket if VRDM or increased super sampling was used. Even rendering on my computer, it took nearly 8 hours, and Max ran out of memory because of a bug and couldn't render the video post. By the way, that was made 16-Aug-2005.

What exactly do you call this. It is funny how you stress the word much to indicate a direct flame towards Ross's render.

EDIT: Can we get rid of the render and link it so that way the page isnt streached out so much?

veegie's work is a good example to follow. ross, your render is neat, but it lacks in context. it kinda looks like a dance party, since there are no weapons in it.

something i notice about all of veegie's renders is that they have context.

please guys, stop bickering.

My advice Ross would be to not follow anyones work, be unique. Your own creativity will get you far. Again, just be unique and come up with your own scenes and other creative things.

I agree. The thing is, veegie is well more knowleged in the field of 3d gaphic design, and ross had more of an artistic look to his render than veegies. Well hell veegie could have won for all we know, but he chose not to enter his render into the contest and that was his choice.

And now your trying to boast about some wierd crap that has nothing to do with anything just so you feel superior... wow. BTW, I'm shere all were impressed by the winners of the art contest too, so why do you have to bring that up? I understand that you didn't join this contest and that you probably could've got in the top 3, but that doesn't mean you have to brag about how you would've beaten ross's or won 1st or whatever your trying to say. Nobody cares.
