Can you add lighting/glow effects to models?

I was wondering if anyone has any idea how I can attach a glow effect to the undercarrage of the hog. I have already skinned it, but have no idea if attaching lighting effects to a model is possible...Looking for a needler glow type of effect.
Any ideas? or is this even possible?

well, u could always change the model of the warthog untill u got the model around where one of the headlights was.. otherwise i have no idea...

There is a glow texture in bitmaps. Maybe that may be of some help.
