i am having a lot of trouble with making my skins have deails like bolts etc show thru. i made the skin transparent but it now has a purplish look to it. i know about the multi texture but what do i do with it??

putting little details like that is a waste of time, I wish we could I would go nuts!!! When you put on the skin i=the res. blows up so much it muddies up quick and will not be visible. noticable images will need to be a good size. Also make sure the small details are in the top layer slot of your skinning to make them seen first and have the body the full 100% opacity.

If you want to do away with the purple color, using photoshop, Outline and select everything you want to be black and white (make sure you are on the Bottom layer, the master layer)

go to

image>adjustments>desaturate

now everything selected will be black and white on that layer, no more purple!
I gotta have more cow bell!

Well I created some rock textures recently that look even better than the ones mapped in Bloodgulch, and yea ive tried importing them in, but they are kinda bad looking once ingame...perhaps changing the resolution of the pic to something VERY high might help?
