Its too skinny. try to take off the smoothing groups but you got the shape of it really good.
rendering tips
put a skylight above the scene. then press f10 and check light tracer under the lighting tab i think

Why do you have 3DS Max 8 when you can't even model right.

If you have bought it illegal(Which i doubt you did) burn the license and cd.

It will do us good.

Here are my two cents.

Chamfer edges and correct smoothing will work. Google it, and don't ask.

Come back when you've learned how to do it.

Wait wait wait...bought illegal? Ummm, last time I checked, buying things was the legal way of obtaining them. But he does have a point, you oughta try some tutorials. www.3dtotal.com is a FANTASTIC site with great resources, a friendly community forum, and some incredibly talented 3d artists.

Hmmm... with some decent skinning, this might actually turn out okay.

The guy making these is obviously very new to modeling and just messing around wiht it. He's probably a freshman in highschool based on his age, and I know I didn't have a ton of free time to do stuff like this Freshman year. Anyways, at least he's trying, and this is definetly bettter than his older stuff. We all start somewhere.
