Post by CovenantSpy »

Can someone please help. I'm trying to get my worthog open in Adobe photoshop but i cant.

Ok Heres all that I did I downloaded HMT and went into blood gulch through it. I then clicked on bitmaps and went to the worthog I then saved the texture under a new folder under my halo files. I then downloaded the dds.plugins for photoshop and using winrar I extracted it to:
C:
Photoshop version #
Plug-Ins
File Formats

But when i go into photoshop and go to file open and go to my saved texture I get this error:
Halo Files.Ink
File not found
Please verify the correct file name was given

am i openning the texture the wrong way or something?

Did you download the two dll files with the Nvidia Tools? There on the right on the site where you downloaded the tools.

If you go back to the page where the link was to download the plugin in the Nvidia Site, there should also be a link in the same box to download 2 dlls in order to get the plugin to work.

when you put the plug-in in the folder did you put it in "file formats" if so thn select>cut>go to the plug-ins folder>and paste. sounds like you used my tutorial, I put a pic in there of the plug-in sitting in the plug-ins folder. you will notice it is the only non folder in the pic. Have fun!

Ok I was using your tut and when i got to the part on the .dds plugins I still dont know where to pu them. I going to list all the files:
Digimarc
Effects
Extensns
Formats
Displacement maps
Export
Filters
Import

Which of these files do I put the .dds plugin in?
Right now I have them in Formats but its not working.

what version of PS do you have? if it is CS i have heard some people say it handles .dds files diffrent, if it is try adding the extension .dds behind the texture you saved and try again.

Try opening any image (a dog or something) and save as. select the file type and see if .dds shows as an option.

Also try downloading it again, maybe the file was corrupted.

You should not be having this problem.

post back with all that happens, if that does not work maybe someone might have another idea.
