While messing with Halo PC, I combined the AI Tutorial with the Vehicles as Projectiles tutorial. It works and doesn't work. A little help maybe?
It works: The plasma pistol shoots out ghosts with elites in them.
It works: The elites shoot at you when you come in range. They jump out of the way of vehicles/grenades, and will chase you when their health gets low (same as in single player)
It doesn't work: the elites don't move unless prompted. If you run away, they don't chase you. Judging by some searching, this is a known bug without a known fix.
It doesn't work: The plasma rifle is crapped out. Not sure how to fix. Judging by some searching, this is a known problem without a known fix.
It doesn't work: The ghosts that spawn at the bases KEEP SPAWNING. I had a pile so big it lagged out my video card. And they're not spawning with elites any more.
It doesn't work: The ghost pile occasionally spits out infinately long planes. They're immaterial (you can walk through them) and go away as fast as they appear, but it's kinda annoying.

FIX: Edit the Actr and Actv tags for the elites and the ghost pilot actv to extend the visual and audio perception.

FIX: When you extract the biped, you also need to extract and decrap the weapon that the actv you chose carries. add the decrapped weapon into the rebuild.

I'm assuming I'll need a plugin for HMT. Since Phenom's link is busted, I don't have them.
Use the item plugin in HMT to decrease the respawn time for the weapon you swapped the ghosts for.
I didn't swap the ghosts with any weapons. I made them a projectile. But I figured out why they were piling up like that. When the ghosts the weapon shot out respawned they'd go to the spawn point. I should have realized that earlier. *stupid, stupid, stupid*

I didnt know there was a plugin thread here. I just started making backups of all te useful PC modding stuff, 'cos a lot of it gets deleted.

pretty much, there are a few other options too.
