Just want a little info on H2 Modding

ok, but the Million dollar question hasnt been answered yet. How do you remove mods/maps???

Its a very simple question... if i dont want mods on my xbox anymore later on, how do i remove them?

If you havent learned how to get them on there yet you should start with that. Succesfully apply a ppf or serenity to a map and then ask that question.
PPf o matic has a feature to remove a ppf patch. Serenity, I dont know. take some time to read and learn this stuff first. Most people arent gonna be anle to help you if you cant help yourself through the basics.

Thats what this thread is for. So i can get all the info at once, then not have to spam the forums with questions again. I learn how to do everything now, help others and use the info later. Besides, I've learnt about how to apply and all already. now I just need the Cable and Card. I dont know where to get them or how much they are, but I'll figure that out my self.

You can use a cross-over cable, an eithernet cable, and what I use which is fast is a system link cable.

A system link cable is basically a cross over cable, with an M$ logo and the pricetag to go with it. Make your own cross over, or buy one for a few bucks at your local PC store.

To remove the PPF patch, just take the original map off your CD and overwright it

A system link cable is NOT a crossover cable!! sytem link is like male - male
while crossover is male - female. Dont go buy a system link cable if you want to ftp. You need a cat-5 crossover cable.

For FTPing through a Hub/Router/Switch.etc, You can use a standard ethernet or a Crossover cable, either works, but if your going straight to your Xbox from your PC networking card, you need Crossover.

wait wait wait wait....wait.... If i have an ethernet wire hooked up to my Xbox from my Modem/Router (its both), I can still FTP/"access my Xbox?"

EDIT: ok, this is Un-organized:

1. I want to make Mods for Halo2. No mod chip crap though.

2. Do I need to use Save-Game exploits? Do i need mech assault or another game like that?

3. Do I need to mod my dashboard first? How do I do it? Does it involve opening the Xbox?

4. My computer is hooked up to the internet via a Modem that is also a router. My Xbox is hooked up via an ethernet wire to the Modem-Router Hybrid. Can I FTP through the Ethernet wire and Router-Modem?

5. Do I need to be on a LAN with my Xbox?

6. How do I FTP?

7. I checked Xbox scene, but all the tutorials were about Hard-mods and mod chips. The ones that were about the soft-mods were either out of date, or didnt help me much.

8.Anything else I need to know?

Finnally 9. My friend also wants to mod with me, but he is on a wireless hook up. How would he go about it?

There, Mabey now it can be organized and make more sense.

DarkBolt you will be using the disk to go xbl so all u need to do is make sure your cache is cleared b4 u logon logon xbl and As Long as u dont have the DLC maps Modded you will be good.
