OH MY ****ING GOD!!!

Post by RaVNzCRoFT »

Sh!t. I just realized that I have only 30 MB of space left on my entire 70 GB hard drive. And I just got this computer about a year and a half ago. I am so screwed. What should I do? I'm doing the compress/clearing of old files thing right now. How much would another hard drive cost?

EDIT: And needless to say, you might not be seeing much of me during the next few days.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH.

I'm so stupid. It took up so much space because I just filmed a million things with Fraps. See, I go to http://www.highimpacthalo.com, the best website for Halo 1 and 2 tricks. And there's constantly trick challenges there, things that have never been done before. I was attempting one where you warthog launch from one side of Silent Cartographer to the other. And I filmed about 150 tries, and that took up a hella lot of space. I'm so stupid. lol

I now have more than 25% of my hard drive left. But that's still not much. Only about 20 GB. :(

Really. I thought it would be more. Cool.

Where'd you get that? Ebay? Or a store?

Serial ATA (SATA) is a hard drive interface (like IDE), it is much faster than generic IDE hard drives, they also have SATA II, just make sure your motherboard supports SATA.

Yeah, I would make sure of that. My brother is a computer GENIUS, and I'd never buy something without his word on it (he's 17, yet Dell and a number of other companies have asked him to work for them). I suppose I'll check Ebay, Circuit City, Best Buy, and Comp USA, and see whose prices/deals are the best.

I would go with Newegg, best prices, and super fast shipping.

I found I had almost half of my total space in the Recycle Bin. Try deleting all the items in there.

I am a Graphics Designer. And 100 of large PSD files and 100 of large PNG files will eventually add up. That, and Bryce 3d, Photoshop CS, 3ds Max 7 (got ride of that; I didn't need it), Imageready, Halo, and Halo CE. That, and a bunch of other crap. But thanks for that NewEgg link, THC. I've heard of that site, I just don't know enough about hardware to ever go to a site like that. And everyone else who mentioned what hard drives they have, thanks, I'll definitely look into some of them.
