Map (BloodGulch) Messed Up

Post by enerbrat »

Sorry if this has been posted before. By the way, this is NTSC Xbox Halo 1. I have not tried my CD on another Xbox since.

---------------------------------------------------

Okay, so I messed around in HHT, backed up my original bloodgulch.map, changed the Assault Rifle so it shoots Sniper Bullets. Copied the map to my Xbox. Played, it worked fine. Went back to mod some more. Copied over, nothing changed. It continued on like this for a bit. Then I started using HMT, messed with it, same thing. Nothing changed. Once again, this went on for a bit. Well I finally got mad at it for not changing so I thought maybe I corrupted a file or something. Deleted the Halo game from my HardDrive and reinstalled it. Well for some reason the modded BG was still there. So I deleted it, played it from the CD without loading the UnleashX Dash first. I played, and it still had the modded BG. No modded files, running straight from CD. My backup doesn't seem to do anything. I deleted all my saves to see if that worked, didn't.

---------------------------------------------------

To make a long story short. BloodGulch (BG) is always modded. When I run the plain CD, or the reverted "back up" copied over.

---------------------------------------------------

So my question is...how and why. I don't have a DVD burner, and my Xbox doesn't run from burned CDs (Version 1 Xbox) I don't know of any other way to rewrite CDs either. If I had a real back up, would it fix it? How else could I fix it? I might try my friend's CD and see if that works. It seems as though it overwrote the CD...but...that's not possible?

Please, if I don't respond within a day or so, message me at enerbrat on AIM or [email protected] on MSN.

Delete everything on your computer known to contain anything from Halo. Uninstall the game completly, remove it from your computer, and install it from scratch. If that doesn't work then your hacking skillz are too great for Halo to handle  . Using your friend's game to get your original back is illegal if possible. Just have him e-mail you HIS version of bloodgulch from HIS computer then you can use it to put back in the game if uninstalling it/removing it and reinstalling from scratch doesn't work. Also remove programs that you used to edit it and see if that helps. It could be the programs that keep putting the data back in the game. Any files that you used( edited bitmaps) should also be thrown away. It's better to have the original so you haev somewhere to start, as opposed to an edited one..better start from scratch eh?
Good look, hope this helps.

Errr...it's the Xbox Halo 1. So how could the files effect it when it's not connected? It acts as if the actual CD is modded. Which it is not.
