hard modding gives u more memory, actually hard modding is just a term for having a mod chip. if u get one, u can save rented games on your xbox, and stuff like that, it just gives u more memory and enables u to mod also, pwnd!

Soft mod and hard mod do the exact same thing there is no difference, except that theres more of a chance to screw up your xbox with a soft mod, but no more discussion on this topic, if there is anymore I will lock it.

from what i understand softmodding basically copies lynx overtop the Xbox interface thus allowing you to mod...thing is you cant shut it off like a hard mod chip so the people at Xbox and Bungie will pick it up as long as ur Xbox is on and logged into live
