I still remember the good 'ol days...

BTW, just as note I'm being pretty serious about this...

Anticipating Halo PC back in August or whenever that is was that no one knew when Halo would be coming out for PC. Lol, on one site, I remember they had a contest to see who could guess the release date. It wasn't funny back then, but it is to me now...

I also remember the hard times. Hex Workshop 4 was what HMT3 is to modders now. I remember first getting everything I needed to mod, and then making the ar shoot rockets. It was an awesome mod to me then!! It was hte first mod I ever played, and would show me something that I would later get so involved with. I went to school and told all my friends who played Halo about this "incredible" mod. They all just about crapped themselves.

I remember how hard it was to do something simple like make vehicles fast (which I never did get to work in Hex Workshop *sigh*). There wasn't much you could do at all in hex. Some of the biggest things were making the shotgun shoot 20 pellets instead of 10, or making MC jump higher. Yup, I'll never forget that...

All these n00bs who come in here and can't even use HMT3 to mod make me sick. The real l337 people are the ones who first modded Halo all in hex. I guess other good modders are l337 too, because they can mod really really well.

Well, let me know what you guys remember from "way back when..."

WARNING: LITERALLY TAKEN QUOTE ALERT!

I remember the good old days...when Duke Nukem Forever was real...

When Megatokyo was a gaming comic, when Half-Life was new shit, and even way way back when Duck Hunt was the sweetest light gun game money could buy.

I remember seeing a half of a page blurb of a preview on Halo...and nowadays I see pull 9 page spreads about Halo 2 in most gamimg magazines...

I remember the day when the Dreamcast launched, how it sold out in almost every store in America. I remeber when the DC Dev scene was born, and still see how it is growing today. I watch the GC Dev scene unfold before me (there is no way I'm paying to legally or even illegally dev for my PS2 or Xbox).

I remember the December 1998 issue of Gamepro, which showed a tiny preview of Microsofts console code named "X-Box". How they showed it being a toaster, and having two blenders for controlers, seeing as how MS wanted it to be a national household appliance.

Ever played Space Invaders for the Atari 2600? Great game, but it must take me 20 times to try to load the actual game up without it looking all funky.

I even remeber the day that I bought the game that changed the way I not only look at RPGs, but at games in general: Final Fantasy VII. I share the adventure in Final Fantasy XI, and wait to see what unfolds in Final Fantasy XII.

May not be Halo, but you did say way back when

You back lots of memories...

Playing my older bro. in some baseball game for the NES.

Blowing in a game 1,000,000 times thinking that would actually make it work.

...

So many good times I miss...

I remember first getting my hands on akas bgedit 0.2 or so, all it could do was swap projectiles but I loved it, it inspired me to look at halomods.com and get hmt and get hmt3 and make all the cool stuff I can now. I remember seeing the videos on rampancy.net and just saying to my friend looking over my shoulder "that is sweet! the shotgun shoots 20 rockets!"... I remember seeing the posts on HBO about the bgedit's and learning from the 0.5 one how the map file worked, and still now learning more every time I open my batch extracted bg.

P.S. m3g4t0ky0 is still good.

I remember the good old days when Halo PC first came out, you could team kill like 50 people and not get kicked. Now it just plain sucks.

Im pretty new to the scene but i still learned to hex edit first, only to find out there was an easier way to mod. I got the hang of hex straight away and it was the same with HMT. But i wonder what the Halo modding scene would be like w/o HMT.... Would those good old days still be good days now?

Every thing that as been said on here is true.

Now days its like this: Hey, that ball don't look round when you zoom in on it. This game sucks, lets give it a 1 out of 10.

A game don't have to look like real life to be fun.

Yeah, I joined this site back before HMT 3, and have been with it ever since. I remember the first time I made the shotgun shoot 255 pellets that were all rockets, good times

Not since Rodney Caston (SP) left...Fred turned it into some dating sim game comic...

But I sadley didn't jump onto the Halomods badwagon until the end of December...read some article in a gaming mag a month before about modding Halo and about the HEK should come out then...I was wrong.

I remember the good old days.

Getting an Atari when I was three and constantly getting squashed by cars in Frogger.. Staying up for days at a time trying to beat Blaster Master on the NES... Playing through Super Metroid and Chrono Trigger on the SNES... The 7th Guest and Doom on my first PC.. playing FFVII, which raised the bar for production values in a game..

The good old days of Halo modding were fun too hehe..

Everthing was new - the things that have been accomplished now were a far away impossible dream.. Making the shotgun shoot tank mortars was officially awesome back then...

Yeah... Here's to the good old days *cheers*

I remember my first mod with HEX, I made the pistol shoot tank shells in the POA, such a simple mod, but it brought so much joy. I sometimes wonder if I would have learned meta by now if there was no HMT3...

ahh yes...the good ole days. THe days when mario was flat and rocked just as hard. i remember playing that game so many times...getting the cape and even remember when he could shoot fireballs. i remember getting my first gameboy and playing links awakening, a game i have yet to beat. i remember playing duck hunt with my uncle and owning him so badly. i remember when the 3d game revolution game about with the n64 and mario 64. i remember sitting in front of my computer for hours wasting demons with my pistols and stuff. metor defense, raptor:call of the shadows, cosmo's cosmic adventure, crystal caves, the last two were games so old they used the computers system speaker to make sounds. i remember getting my playstation and marveling at the little black cd that could amuse me for days. i remember the elation at getting my xbox and halo and almost passing out in delight at its awesome graphics. i remember scoffing at its pc cousin untill i bought it reluctently and fell in love. good times.. good times..
