best free game EVER!

download the international version of Guns Online, it's got to be the best free game i've ever played!

(sadly, i beleive that the server isn't the best, it took me 1.5 hours to download, max. speed was 25.5kbs, and i have cable...)

It's an odd MMO/3rd person shooter with both rpg and shooter elements

you create a character, choose his class, and get playing! each class has their own set of weapons they start with that you can upgrade further down the road

--classes--

i can't remember half of them, but the assassin and gun preist are good ones. my character's the last one with dual minics (revolvers), a rusty knife, 2 health kits and 2 armor repair kits. i'd advise against using axion knights because they're not that great at long distances, and they're best at "n00b spraying" (or, rather, "spraying and praying")

--weapons--

you start off with
1. a gun
2. a melee weapon
3. and 2 special weapons

later on, you can buy a secondary gun, and upgrade your melee weapon, and buy different special wepons.

melee weaps:

knife - something that will get you embarassed
katana - slower than kodachis, but more powerful
kodachis - faster than katana, but less powerful



guns:

pistols - good
smgs - spray 'n pray
shotguns - close range pwnage
assault rifles - nice accuracy, good
machine guns - andvanced spray 'n pray
rocket launchers - good for just blowing the hell out of everything


--control--

you move with WASD, jump with space, and aim and shoot with the mouse. all chat is ENTER and team chat is '. in-game, you can look at the scorelist and pings with TAB and bring up the in-game menu with ESCAPE.

with a gun out, double-tapping W, A, S, or D will make you dive in that direction

with a melee weapon out (Katana, Knife) double-tapping W, A, S or D will make you move a short distance in that direction very fast.

you reload with R (or click the mouse when you empty a magazine) and change weapons with either the number keys above WASD or the mouse wheel

with a melee weapons, you do a normal attack by clicking the mouse, a lunge-type attack with the right mouse button, and you can charge up your sword/knife when you stand still and hold down the left mouse button.

and now, the cool moves...

you can climb, jump, and run on walls! simply run towards a wall, and hit jump right before/as you hit it, or jump at a wall and jump again right before/as you hit it. with a knife/sword out, you can jump at a wall, right-click before you hit it, and stick your sword/knife in the wall and hang there for a bit.

try mixing up wal running, hang, jump, and weapon switching/shooting to get some cool moves.

advanced moves can be made by using slashes (with melee weapons, of course) after wall jumps/runs to give you control to move (like, to do another wall jump/run...)

International Version is for everyone, and you MUST use it if you aren't in Japan or Korea, which means LOTS of lag.
Anybody who has used a computer for 1 hour can cheat.
Ugly. It has the graphics of an N64 game.
It's too damn hard to hit anything.

the graphix suck

it's free, suck it up, and they did an at least decent job with effects (it's also beta version, so there will be graphical overhauls)

we're trying to look at qualities of the game to determine whether it's good or bad, not your opinion.

1. every MMO has people like that, welcome to real life
2. if you fall for the "if you type in your password it'll show up as stars" thing, i'd say you pretty much deserve it for being ignorant.
3. there's no purpose to steal someone else's account other than to play on it, because player can't trade items with each other (sounds like someone's criticizing a game they've never played...)
4. counter strike has hackers too, but it's still fun

again, they are in every game, they're called noobs, they get owned for a bit, then they catch on and learn how to play.

too many lag

i say you apply for you last quote here...everything over the internet will have lag, halo has lag, halo 2 has lag, every single pc game that you play with someone else over the internet has lag, again, this is real-life stuff here.

i like Gunz SOOOO much, its cool that they just give it out and you dont have to be a special person to be a beta tester.

all my friends are on it, so we get together all the time (i have school off today, so it's LAN-party mania!)

i also really love that fact that they give you a melee weapon that you can whip out at any time, block bullets/melee attacks with, and if you get good enough, literally fly around the level with...
