type Freeware Hex Editor and download one. then open the map in the hex editor you choose, hit FIND and type the name of the tag u want to change "such as, Picked up Battle Rifle"

Note: Make sure whatever you change the words to, is the same length or smaller then the original

Example: Picked up Battle Rifle. 22 characters

Picked up Death Thing Rifle. 27 characters (wont work)
Picked up Death (2 spaces) Rifle. 22 characters (works

)
Picked up Death Rifle. 21 characters (works

)

the same length or smaller, so 21 characters should work?

thanks a bunch
