Halo 2 problem
Halo 2 problem
I just read something on Halomods that if you have Auto update 1.1 and 1.2 that you cant add maps to mainmenu.map in Halo 2. I wanted a seperate xbox for modding purposses. However, I need to turn off my modchip and go onto live to get the new maps and auto updates to be up to date. But when I sign on it will give me the Auto updates and not allow me to add maps to the mainmenu. Maybe i have this wrong, but it would be nice if you could tell me what I should do

if you delete all the updates. your maps will not appear in your main menu. you will need to add them youself

When you get the update and maps they will be in E:\TDATA\4d530064 or something similar. Find the 9 maps and copy them to your maps folder. Then you can delete anything inside of the E:\TDATA\4d530064 folder. (Or rename them with '_backup' at the end of the folder names, that way you have the updates but they are just disabled, incase you need them back for some reason)gruntboy wrote:So I dont need the updates to use mods made by other people? soy bomb has a video tutorial on it. he''ll prolly read this and post it, but if not, look for "adding maps to the main menu" use that if this does not work

Heh, yeah. Since I'm the only guy who has nothing better to do.Tom wrote:soy bomb has a video tutorial on it. he''ll prolly read this and post it

Grunt, the process is quite simple, if you need help, IM me.
All you have to do, is get an unmodified xbox, log onto xbl. Download all the maps. This will cause you to download the 1.2 auto update as well. Once that is done, then you can worry about modding it. Once it is modded, soft or chip doesn't matter, then you can FTP into your xbox and backup the DLC maps to your PC and the auto update just in case that random gamma ray decides to ruin your day.
Then you can delete the DLC folder and add the DLC maps to your mainmenu. This way, you can add maps to the mainmenu, AND you will have the downloaded content added to your mainmenu as well..
Just take a look here. And if you still have questions, even if you don't, feel free to IM me. =)
