But i bet for the most part u used it. Like right now dont even try to lie to me and say u did this in hex or that shit. U prolly have some bsp the rest of us dont have. Its not really fair and when it does come out this wont be that cool. For now good mod. Looks like we will just wait till the furture and see what shit u (special ppl) used.
ROFL...Knew someone was gonna mention it. I didn't use Insolence at all for this mod, so you can take your insane ideas that I would use someone else's tools to this degree and stick it. If I did indeed use a tool to help with this, you can bet your *** I coded 100% of it. And we aren't special or magic, we just try. And those who try succeed. You should try it. And furthermore...Don't try to bull**** me with "If we had tools we'd make cool mods too!" because you won't, and Insolence rests my case. People just complain, ie "It sets that no-system-link flag in the header!"; "It doesn't do sound!"; "FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT!!!!1 kthxbi". As far as I'm concerned, it's a pretty disappointing fact to any programmer to have to put up with that after spending months making something to please the masses.

i no wat u mean man
no one even cares who makes programs anymore and it pisses me the fuck off that people make programs and they dont even care that some1 made them, all they care about is themself and wanting more. Halo 1 days were awesome, all most all mods were the kind of mods where, you say, HOLY S*H*i*t
i WAS never a big halo 1 modding person but damn did i appreciate how people made programs and awesome mods

I wish the crowds now adays were as cool as they were back then

well, ill tell you this, i honestly did not tell shade to post that for credit

yeah it may seem that way but seriosuly

i just thought it would help all the frustration that people r having. Then looknbarrel posted the tut while shade was making one at the same time.

so it kinda worked out

Im seriously sorry if it looked like i was re-leasing that for credit :(, I was at the same time writing a tutorial on how to properly inject a model with Dark Matter to help people who were having problems with it out, which i am done now but i dont know if its needed now that looknbarrel posted a tut :D

its fine, its just not THAT big of a deal to get a custom model injected at this point in time...i just find it kind of ironic that team defiance claims to be the first to inject a custom model when it was done many months ago, a tool was just never made for it. i also dont see a whole lot of credit being given to poke, since after all, his program did most if not all of the dirty work. i think its pointless to release a mod with only an injected model just because you wanted to be the "first", when poke could of just as easily kept the program to himself and been the only one capable of doing so. now im not saying that everytime you use someones app you need to thank them, just remember where it came from and appreciate the things you have and the time the creators spent making them.

now back to swamp's kickass app ;)

For the most part no; that's not true. People don't use the community, they abuse it. Look at all the flaming Insolence has recieved by simply not being perfect. I see no topics that involve "Here, take this piece of code, it should fix this problem : )"; it's all "Release an updated version with this fixed!!! PLZZZ!!!1 I NEED IT FOR A MOD!". Also, people who don't have modded xboxes shouldn't really post on the Halo 2 modding forum; yet they still do. Back in the days of Halo 1 I enjoyed collectively researching, modding, and programming. I enjoyed the social aspect of the 'community'; where we all contributed in our own ways. We modded to show that new things could be done, and then to see where others would take those processes. Now, I simply mod for my own whim, I do it because I enjoy it, not because I want to show anyone else, or see where they can take the ideas. It's all gone downhill since November 9th, 2004.

That's what my goal is, bring back some of the techniques and creativity we all experienced back in the day, so to speak. :P

althugh i have no real knowledge of the halo1 mdding community to realte back to. instead of just "wishing" it was back to the old days...make it happen instead of sitting back and waiting for it to happen. if it was all about discussing your mds r whatever and how to improve it then start it off if you want it to happen. its kinda like the these modding tools...instead of learning it urselves we wish that someone will do it for us. althugh i must admit i like having the other tools until i decide its time for me to try and make one. :)
TSF wrote:"Here, take this piece of code, it should fix this problem : )
well maybe its because of how we take things for granted but its rare that people voice their problems (culd be open for people to flame) or give out source codes etc for us to help fix...look at sav3r thugh, it was pen sourced and alot of people changed it round and reeleased it to make it better and then jefff put it in the main program for everyone.

keep in mind my "o" key is really stuffing up i have to press it hard to make it work so i may skip it smetimes.

and thats my two cents...
and how bout we end this considering im done with it? hehehe

heres a story to actuallly be on tpic...i was exploring the map and jeese i find new things everytime...found some actual weapons too! but i did that whole follow the beam thing and fell into the black area and spent 15 minutes trying t get to the ther end...after that there was a wall but still more to go :( i feel so small in the map

if your talking about being small in induction, yor're right. It is the biggest indoor map I've ever seen, I mean, it takes forever to get places. (I finally found the OS) and no lag, days after TSF posts it, it is still too amazing. I mean, even new levels in Halo1 were block mods, right?

and I love open source programs. (linux (maybe firefox?))

It makes sence what both of you are saying, and i agree with both of you. But you cant blame the normal people to want a program to do most of the work. I have some sick ideas that i would love to see in action, but i also have alot of other things to take care of in life, and this just makes it possible to actualy produce these mods. If it weren't for these programs, i would never ever get a chance to mod due to the amout of time it takes. But Swamp is right, i dont think its right that we beg for progrms then bitch about it till they get the tiny bugs fixed. So whats my point???

Kick ass map!!! nice work!

that is kinda hard if people don't release the source of thier apps (did insolence's source get released?)
