Cyborg Armor skin

Post by quaglinoman »

is there a way to make a new color cyborg armor, I am coloring one now in photoshop and noticed it is a colorless skin which leads me to think that if I color it will be covered up in the game. that the game puts set colors on top of this default skin (mine will be multi-colored with images on the armor.). if that is the case is there a way around this so I can see my new modded skin appear in the cyborg color select screen of the game and play him?

Any help is wanted. thanks.

i cant tell u for sure, but the default is white so i would think during ffa, u can pick the white character for your profile and see if ur skin works because i doubt they put another white skin over the default whie skin so try that tell me what happens.

you were right white is the default color, I am half way through with the color, but tried it out as a test. This is not like when you skin a warthog, I had to turn down the opacity to see the texture. I had to turn opacity all on to see the new color better and texture still appears on the armor, I will put a pick up but it will be crappy since I can't take a pick of myself unless I am in the hog. to bad no mirrors in stages.

I noticed I am still reflective with the armor, I would prefer a flat tone as opposed to shiny, would you know a way around this?

Thanks for your help.

there is a map in there i believe that look like just a close uphighlight on the mc armor, i bet if u made that all one color it might be dull, but ud have to try, im more of a modeler than skinner so try that and if not ill try to look into it for u

hey no problem, if u made it darker or turn up the opacity level i think it would look really good, like ur pic of the bitmap looks awesome if u could make it real noticable like that it would be awesome. then that shinniness thing i can see now, if it wasnt that map i told u about i dont knwo what it is, just keep tryin, i think this will turn out well

the mc skins work like so: there is the "cyborg" texture which is the basic texture and the "cyborg multipurpose" which is the coloring texture. cyborg multipurpose is just different tones of blue, which halo replaces with the color that you choose. i dont know if it is currently known how to affect the colors halo allows (although it is certainly possible) but i know you can edit the ui picture (which would be pointless without actually being that color in game).
