As of now, you can't make or edit any models for Halo2 so there is no need to have a modeling program. But you can edit models for the first halo, and I suggest Gmax. It's free and pretty good compared to other modeling programs. Just head over to google and search "Gmax".

3ds Max is the shit. After working with GMax for a while, then switching, I noticed a major difference (not quite sure what it was but I felt something different). Unfortunatly, I dont have the money to purchase 3ds Max and my free trial ends in around ten days.
